WINGFOILING IN CANCÚN IS INCREDIBLE. IN JANUARY, THE WIND BLOWS BETWEEN 15 AND 25 KNOTS, AND THE WATER IS WARM. WE HAVE ONE OF THE BEST DOWNWIND COURSES IN THE WORLD: SMOOTH CONDITIONS, GREAT WAVES, AND SIMPLE LOGISTICS, ALL IN A SAFE AND BEAUTIFUL ENVIRONMENT.
THE MAYAN WIND FEST WILL OFFER 3 CATEGORIES: ISLAND CROSSING, DOWNWINDER, AND SLALOM RACES.

CANCÚN-ISLA MUJERES
The Cancun-Isla Mujeres crossing will be the main event of the Mayan Wind Fest: 10 km of perfectly aligned crosswind from Puerto Cancun to the southern point of the island, fun and challenge with guaranteed safety and hundreds of kites heading to the iconic "Isla Mujeres."
DOWNWINDER
MOCAMBO - SHAKA VIBES
The Downwinder will start from the eastern point of Cancún, at a beach called 'Playa Caracol,' and will end at the main event site in Puerto Cancún. It’s 9 km long, and the waves are excellent. This is not a race, just a great wingfoiling gathering where you can enjoy what you love most in fantastic conditions, with plenty of riders
SLALOM/
RACING
Slalom races in wingfoil are a lot of fun, especially for amateur riders. During the event, you'll have the opportunity to compete with some of the best in the world. We plan to hold 5 to 8 short races (5 to 15 minutes, depending on your speed) over the weekend.
All races will be in fleet format, which means everyone starts at the same time behind a speedboat (rabbit start). The course will be set slightly downwind, creating a W-shaped slalom course with 4 turns and a finish line right in front of the beach.
