The Cancun-Isla Mujeres crossing will be the main event of the Mayan Wind Fest: 10 km of perfectly aligned crosswind from Puerto Cancun to the southern point of the island, fun and challenge with guaranteed safety and hundreds of kites heading to the iconic "Isla Mujeres."

¡This category is a lot of fun and exciting for the public! The rules are very simple: activate your Woo or SurfR app on your phone or watch and ride for 1 hour alongside the other kitesurfers, looking for the best gust or ramp to jump as high as possible.
BIG AIR/OLD SCHOOL

Big Air is the public's favourite discipline, and we want to show them what kitesurfing is all about. Twintip, foil and strapless are allowed, with no categories, to give everyone the chance to show their best tricks. We have developed an innovative format:
Qualifying Round : Heats of 5 riders, 4 jumps per rider. The best jump counts towards qualifying for the main event.
Main Event : Top 16 riders in the standings. Scoring is 60% height and 40% difficulty/technique.
Quarterfinals : 4 heats of 4 riders, 6 jumps per rider. The 2 best jumps count. The best 2 advance to the semifinals.
Semifinal : 2 heats of 4 riders, 6 jumps per rider. The 2 best jumps count. The best 2 advance to the final.
Final : 4 riders, 6 jumps per rider. The 2 best jumps count.
FREESTYLE/NEW SCHOOL
CONTEST
The Freestyle event will showcase Mexico's best kitesurfers. Technique and style are key to success in this explosive discipline.
Qualifying Round: 5-rider heats, 4 tricks per rider. The best trick counts towards qualifying for the main event.
Main Event: Top 16 riders in qualifying.
