Kiteboarding
Kiting in Cancun is great. In January, the wind usually blows around 15-25 Knt. The water is pretty flat and the wind side-onshore. If you ride 1km away from the schools, you will find the nicest water you have ever ridden, see a lot of turtles and just have a great time.
To make sure you enjoy the most your trip, Mayan Wind fest will have 4 different categories: Island crossing, Woo High Jump, Big air / Old School & freestyle new school. The kitefoil racers will also have regattas together with the sailing event.
The Mayan Wind Fest will be the 1st stop of the AMK Mexican tour, followed by the Kite together fest in Yucatan in April and the Festival del Viento in Nayarit in May. During those 3 events with unified categories, rider will score points toward a national ranking, to finally crown the Mexican Kitesurfing champions at the end of the tour!
