Wingfoiling

Wingfoiling in Cancun is awesome. In January, the wind usually blows around 15-25 Knt and the water is warm. We are proud to say that we have one of the best downwind run in the world. It is not the most radical conditions, but a very smooth run, with great bumps and just the right distance to have a lot of fun and easy logistics. Also it is extremely safe and beautiful.

To make sure you enjoy the most your trip, Mayan Wind fest will have 3 different categories: Island crossing, Downwinder and slalom racing.

20 km Island Crossing:
Cancun - Isla Mujeres

The crossing from Cancun to Isla Mujeres (round trip) will be the main event of he Mayan Wind Fest. It will be as fun as challenging. The South point of the island is located perfectly in front of Puerto Cancun, 10Km away, allowing a perfect side wind, leg burning run. The water can get choppy if the wind is strong, but the shape of the bay and numerous safety boat will allow you to safely cross to this Iconic "Woman Island", together with hundreds of wings.

The start will be a "rabbit start behind a speed boat and may the fastest winger win the 1st prize of $2,000 USD

Prizes:

1st place: $2,000 USD

2nd place: $1,000 USD

3rd place: $500 USD

Downwinder

The Dowinder will be from the Eastern point of Cancun, a beach called "Playa Caracol" and will arrive to the main event site in Puerto Cancun. it is 9km long and the bumps are very good. It is not a race, just a great wingfoiling reunion to allow you to do what you like the most in great conditions, with a lot of riders and turtles.

Pure fun all the way downwind.

We will provide the logistics (transportation, bringing back your belongings to the finish...), safety boats and take great photos and videos of you riding!

Slalom Racing

Slalom racing in wingfoil is very fun, specially for amateur riders. During the event, you will have the oportunty to race with some of the top riders in the world. We are planning to do 5 to 8 short races (5 to 15 min depending on your speed) during the weekend.

All the races will be done in fleet racing, which mean everybody starts at the same time, behind a speed boat (rabbit start). The course will be orientated slightly downwind to make a W slalom course with 4 jibes and a finish line right in front of the beach.

Prizes:

1st place: $2,000 USD

2nd place: $1,000 USD

3rd place: $500 USD
